Do you offer gift cards?
Absolutely! Gift cards can be purchased online here. They’re delivered instantly by email, never expire, and are the perfect way to let someone choose their favorite scent.
Can I include a gift note or gift receipt with my order?
Yes! In your shopping cart, use the “Gift Note” option to add a personal message. This also removes all pricing from the packing slip.
Does Hilton Head Soap Co. charge sales tax?
Sales tax is calculated based on your shipping address and applicable state laws. For international orders, customers are responsible for any local duties or import taxes.
What if I forgot to use a discount code?
Please contact our Support Center right away. While we’ll do our best, we can’t guarantee retroactive discounts for missed promotions or expired codes.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
We process orders quickly, but if you reach out via our Support Center within 1 hour, we’ll do our best to help. Once an order ships, it can’t be modified.
Product Information & Care
Are your products hypoallergenic or safe for sensitive skin?
All of our products are paraben- and phthalate-free, and crafted with gentle, skin-friendly ingredients. Our bar soaps include naturally derived moisturizers like glycerin and oat protein, as well as sea kelp extract—known for its soothing and antioxidant properties. While many customers with sensitive skin enjoy our formulas, everyone's skin is unique. We always recommend reviewing the full ingredient list and performing a patch test before full use.
Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?
We recommend consulting your doctor before using any new skincare products while pregnant. Full ingredient lists are available on each product page.
Do you test on animals?
Never. Our products are 100% cruelty-free.
Are your products vegan?
Most of our products are vegan, though select items may contain beeswax or other natural derivatives. Full ingredient lists are included on each product page.
What’s the shelf life of your products?
Our soaps and candles are best used within 12–18 months. For best results, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
How should I store my soaps and candles?
Keep soaps in a dry, ventilated space between uses. For candles, store away from heat or direct sun to preserve scent and wax integrity.
Why does my bar soap sometimes look wet or have a frosted appearance?
That’s the glycerin—one of the most beneficial ingredients in our Classic Bar Soaps. Glycerin is a natural humectant, which means it draws moisture from the air to help keep your skin hydrated and soft. In humid environments, this can cause your soap to appear dewy, develop tiny beads of moisture, or take on a slightly frosted look. This is completely normal—and actually a sign of a high-quality, moisturizing bar.
Many large cosmetic companies remove the glycerin from their soaps and sell it to be used in lotions and serums. We leave it in, where it does the most good—right in your daily bar. To help your soap last longer, keep it in a well-drained dish and out of direct water between uses.

Are your products made in the USA?
Yes! Every Hilton Head Soap Co. product is handcrafted by hand in small batches at our soap studio on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. We’re proud to create each item with care right here in the USA.

Candle-Specific Questions
How do I remove leftover wax from a candle?
Place your finished candle in the freezer for a few hours—the wax should shrink and pop out easily. Use a butter knife if needed, then wash with warm, soapy water to reuse the glass.
Why is my candle tunneling?
Tunneling happens when a candle is extinguished before the wax melts all the way across. Always let the first burn last 2–3 hours to create a full melt pool and prevent tunneling.
What’s the best way to trim the wick?
Trim your wick to ¼ inch before each use to ensure a clean, even burn and minimize smoke or soot.
Do your candles contain paraffin?
No. Our candles are made with a premium apricot-coconut wax blend—never paraffin.

Yes! Everything is handcrafted in our Hilton Head Island soap studio—from mixing and pouring to labeling and packaging. We make each product by hand in small batches to ensure exceptional quality.
Do you offer tours of your production space or have a retail showroom?
We love that you're interested in seeing where the magic happens. While we don’t currently offer public tours or operate a showroom, all of our products are made by hand in our soap studio on Hilton Head Island, where we focus on small-batch production and thoughtful cosmetic formulation.
