Our Story

It All Started Summer '72 ...

1970's
1972: It all began in the summer of 1972 when our family first set foot on Hilton Head, a hidden gem full of promise and new beginnings. Those sunlit days and balmy evenings inspired the handcrafted creations we make today. Our Summer '72 scent, with bright notes of neroli, orange blossom, and warm amber, captures the nostalgia of those carefree days. It’s a tribute to the summer that started it all, when Hilton Head became more than just a destination—it became home.

1980's
1989: Shelter Cove channels the vibrant energy of summer evenings in the '80s—live music in the air, fireworks overhead, and the unmistakable joy of nights by the marina. With notes of blackcurrant, rose, and vanilla, this scent is a tribute to the buzz of the decade and the wonder of fireworks coming alive beneath the stars.

1990's
1997: In 1997, we celebrated 25 sun-soaked summers in Hilton Head, just like many families who’ve made the island a cherished tradition. Sundrenched brings back those carefree '90s days—the ocean breeze, warm sand, and afternoons by the pool. With notes of ocean, honeysuckle, and oud, this fragrance captures the joy and nostalgia of those endless summers.

2000's
2007: As our family grew and began to pursue their own adventures, one tradition remained—Hilton Head vacations. Atlantic Dunes captures the essence of those weekends, whether golfing or strolling along sandy dunes. With calming lavender, warm sandalwood, and sweet tonka, this scent embodies Hilton Head’s tranquility found both on and off the course.

2010's
2018: Yacht Club captures the spirit of a timeless coastal celebration—sunlight on the water, toasts at golden hour, and the sense that something beautiful is just beginning. With bright grapefruit, crisp bergamot, and smooth musk, this scent is a polished tribute to life’s milestones, shared beginnings, and the unmistakable feeling of sailing into something new.

Today
2022: In 2022, we celebrated five decades of Hilton Head memories with our Adventure scent. With notes of violet, cardamom, and sandalwood, it captures the island’s natural beauty and the spirit of exploration it inspires. Named afterAdventure, the ship helmed by Captain William F. Hilton in 1663, the scent’s artwork also nods to the iconic parrot of the Adventure Inn—one of Hilton Head’s original hotels and the place where our family’s island story began in 1972.
